So its gonna be dead today. Our czar and many others are road trippin. I'm dreaming of roasted corn and watermelon balls soaked in watermelon rum, brisket, and turkey legs.
So its summer time folks, What is for lunch?
16 servings of cheap pilsner last night? Attracted to a 6” seafood sandwich you saw being ordered and need someone to talk to? Feel like something pasta-y, but not exactly? This is what terrorizes our nation’s workers every day. It is ever-present, in the back of our minds--riding on the train, up the elevator, in that meeting. But these are simply facets of the one great question. The answer to which must be provided before we can ever grasp contentment. What’s for lunch?

It's not hot enough here to qualify as a lazy hazy summer day. It's actually (or it was at 9:30 when I got in) that perfect temperature for finding a patio or roof deck to hang out on with a cocktail - not too hot, not too cold or breezy. Just . . . perfect. Sigh!
Beware the Ides of June. The Ides of June are upon ye. How can nothing be happening today? There's got to be a holiday of some sort. Somewhere. Oh, today is happy hour somewhere up on U St. with a former co-worker & another former co-worker (who some of the DC WFLers have met before Antibalas) & her fiance. DC WFLers, do come! We're thinking about the Saloon.
My office has the A/C kickin' so I'm freezing...my summer lunch may actually consist of soup!! Although I did have cereal for breakfast with a crap load of fresh blueberries and strawberries which were nice and summery.
Got a ringy ding from the dirty hippies....jo, dipso and peep say hello! I'm sure sunshine does too but god knows they've probably already lost him amongst the masses!
I think we are having watermelon for lunch.
The Jade, soaking balls or cubes of watermelon in Barcardi Watermelon rum is the schizzle-fa-hizzle.
I had the burger from the TailGate after my "snacky-lunch".
