last lunch on earth

let's imagine that you knew the apocalypse was near. what would you eat that day? and, of course, the most important question is what would be your last lunch on earth?

and also, don't forget to tell us WTFFL today too.

Well the world for me IS ending. I have caught a summer cold because I've been treating myself so well. I think I also just overdosed on sudafed.

Good night!

[curls up under desk and snores]

oh WFL?, probably anything that will cure a summer cold .. which means of course liquids and misery.

I'd get that blowfish sushi thing that if its prepared wrong kills you. And i'd prepare it myself, blindfolded...and drunk...

As for today...probably something yummy and not healthy. What the fuck IS for lunch today?

Would it help if we put a bag over our heads?

I would have to go with my same lunch with the devil menu: New York strip rare-medium-rare, garlic whipped potatoes, asparagus, copius amounts of red wine, and creme brulee. And then I would take a nap, and probably sleep right through the apocalypse.

Diz - I always, always, always say it when someone is illin': Zicam, as much water as you can handle, chicken soup with LOTS of garlic, lemons and sleep. You'll be better in no time.

Lean human flesh sliced and marinated in a mixture of soy sauce, sesame oil and green onions. And then grilled over an open flame. I would serve it wrapped in thin bread like moo shu pancakes, or tortillas or even wrap them in lettuce leaves (this all depends upon the amount of prep time available). I might even just eat it over rice. And, of course, I'll have some assorted kim chi on the side. "La choi bulgogi". Mmmm...

Is anyone else having trouble with their gmail today or does it just hate me?

Hey Jo, lean human flesh? Do you want to make sure you go straight to hell or what?

watchdog, a little cannibalism isn't going to affect my standing that much...

I totally missed the reference to human flesh. Wow, I am not too observant today. I second the cannibalism. Oh yeah, mmmmmmmmm, cannibalism.

Hm. I'm not in the mood for man-meat. Well, in the literal sense. I am always up for the metaphorical man-meat. Wait, I guess that's literal, too. Hm.

Lunch is probably a bunch of spaghetti sauce (toms, italian sausage, ground beef, little red wine vinegar, little sherry, mucho garlic, oregano, basil, thyme, rosemary) & just a little pasta. I thought the pasta left at the bottom of the box would suffice, but alas, it did not puff up as much as I thought upon cooking & I didn't have time to make more before I left this morning. However, this is all subject to change, as I had this for dinner last night, too. Hm.

Look forward to a side order post in the next few weeks that will expand upon my earlier cannibalistic comment.

I can't wait!!!

And for lunch today instead of a trip to The Indian Experience, I think I will go to the Marvelous Market and get a small salad and sandwich.

My people love the "lo." (our word for horse) Lo Kolbasz (horse sausage) is pretty standard fare at any butcher. I myself have never tried it since my family's last name (on the Hungarian side, not my actual last name) means "Noble Horsepeople" and it seems wrong.

Last lunch? Not sure. Would depend on my mood. Definitely red meat. Either a ribeye, grilled "Pittsburgh Rare" with butter and bleu cheese, sauteed onions and mushrooms on the side, or maybe In 'n Out. Though, if the latter, I'd hope the rapture would come immediately, so I wasn't puking in the bathroom and missed the whole thing.

Oh, or maybe lamb... Hmmmm...

Lunch today is abp cobb salad, side of hard boileds. Yipfreaki'ee!

Where's the Beefalo!?!

LizTurtle said...

You'd think the religious right would put up more of a fight against this devil-animal beefalo. That is some freaky sounding shit right there. Althouhg, I'd like to try it. Never had equine, but I did have kangaroo once - not bad - not as heavy as steak, and not as gamey as I would have expected.

For lunch, went to CA Tortilla & got a southwestern chicken salad with bad guac. Man, there are not many things worse than guac that's turned bad. Bad to the stone. The rest of it was fine, but I'm still hungry. And it had a bunch of cheese & tortillla strips (not to mention a chicken breast), so I don't know why I'm still hungry. Dangit.

I went to Corner Bakery and got the Trio od salads. DC Chicken, Tuna and Ceasar Potato.

I am pleased.

Thanks Jade!

Though I just sent an email, I'd like to reach out via blog to see if any DC OWFLers have any HH ideas - other than BB. While I always hesitate to skip out on Bob, it's a bee-yoo-tee-ful day in the neighborhood, so it seems silly to spend it underground.

Any and all suggestions for alternate venues welcome. My suggestion contribution (though I am by no means married to the idea; I'm just lazy) is The Exchange, as they have plenty of outdoor seating, and more to the point, is extremely convenient to both my office and gym, which, is where I'm headed in a few.

Um, I'll be at Tony & Joe's around 6:30-7:00. It's right on the water. Pretty!

And just in time for these clouds rolling in!

ok, it's actually raining here now.

today i felt poopy, so i decided to get my comfort food and eat it noisy-like in a staff meeting that i did not want to be in.

before the rapture, i'd eat a double double animal style. i'd chase that down with some kalbi, kimchi, and a bowl of naegmyun. (north korean cold noodle soup) and if i wasn't puking by then, i'd have a bit of that motherload chocolate cake from claim jumper's...anyone else know of that suburban upchuck of a joint? we had one in our town, and that cake was the only thing that was worth going for.

oh the "noisy" lunch was b-line salad: cous cous and curried chicken salad, of course. this time the cous cous didn't fall into my keyboard though...

I had half a ham and provolone sadwich on french read and a cup of raspberry frozen yogurt that was just the prettiest shade of pink I ever did see.

I want a Corner Bakery near me. I love the trio of salads.
