The Dawn of a New Era

Good Morning Lunchers!

I know many of you received texts or even calls from the former czar over the weekend. Some of those had to do with the absence of deep fried olives at this year's festival, others to do with the show itself, still others to do with... well, other things.

And then there were the ones to do with insurgents and choosing sides etc. I politely informed Jo that a change in administration had taken place in his absence, and he was actually quite cordial about the whole thing, and is happy to see the Schedule come back. However, I have heard that he did not maintain his cordial demeanor, and has sent texts about punishments and other horrible things to some of you. Hell, he sent one to me.

Now, I am here to tell you that all is right with the blog back in the capable hands of Madame Presidente. Later today I will work on the schedule - please feel free to email me any requested dates - otherwise I will begin to assign people to dates, but of course we're able to be flexible.

Now, Madame Presidente would like to know - and don't be afraid to raise your voices - what would you like from OWFL that you're not getting? How can this administration better serve you? What are YOUR needs? And, as always, What's For Lunch?

Jeez...dawn of a new/return to old era and only one post at 1:15PM...not off to a good start are we???!!

Anyways, I did not get my quiznos chopped salad over the weekend so maybe I'll venture out to find one for lunch. If not it'll be Subway.

Oh wow. I am shocked - shocked - at the lack of commentary. I, personally, have been swamped this morning (and probably this afternoon, too). And I will probably be in a food coma soon, too . . . oh, what a world, what a world. Oh, lunch was lunch special #1 at Sala Thai. Sort of a drunken noodle thing. I'm not sure what the difference between this & drunken noodles is, b/c it sounded like pretty much the same thing & tasted pretty much like it . . . I'm sure there's some essential ingredient that I don't know about. Anyways, it was quite good. And it came with a salad with peanut dressing, which was really more like peanut dressing with some lettuce garnish.

Anyone else catch this in the Post today? Sigh. I may have to make a concerted effort to actually go next year . . . .

Uni - I agree. Where is everyone? This does not bode well. WTF? I'm making changes for the better, here, everyone! I'm getting that schedule up tonight!!

And, I had the Quizno's salad on Saturday. Very tasty.

I woulda been here, but the day is bizzay. And I did check out some of the friday posts and agree that we need to bring the schedule back. It was like we fixed something that wasn't broken, but then it really was broken after the fix was in.

I finally went to that Phillip's Cafe place, based on past recommendations on the blog.

I like that the turkey sandwich is carved turkey. But now I feel a little bit like post-thanksgiving, and i'm sleepy.

Just got back from Quiznos...ready to dig in. Although I noticed that I got parm cheese instead of the bleu. Hmmm...I like the moldy cheese, but parm will suffice as well. The thing is huge though! I may need a nap!

ditto on the busy day. i ate some curry that i made with tofu, onions, green peppers, and jasmine rice. muy delicioso!

yay for the return of madame president! i'd personally like to see more lunch suggestions for those of us who are often times torn as to what to eat for lunch...i think some of these requests get ignored.

Oh god, Miu! That sounds awful! A few of us went to Appleby's once (hey, we were in college & low on funds) and my friend was like "Hey, the name of this place had made me crave apple juice." So he ordered it & the waitress gave him a look like "What a weird thing to order" & said "we don't have apple juice." Like, is that such a weird thing to request at a restaurant with 'Apple' in it's name? And in it's fricking logo? And it's supposed to be all family-friendly? Parents never order apple juice (even though everyone knows apple juice is just colored apple-flavoured sugar-water)? We were not impressed!

I am so getting a Quizno's salad - although I looked them up on line & while they look awesome, they do not look, in any way, like they qualify as 'healthy'. Mmm, I can't wait!

Yeah, I don't think they are the most healthy salad option out there. I did use a FF balsamic dresssing instead of the ranch, and I meant to only eat two of the flatbread pieces...but I ate all of them.

I don't really like quiznos. I don't actively dislike it either, though.

I had a BLT and a diet coke.

Is Jo protesting?

The Quizno's salad is really quite good. The one I had was really onion-y, which I liked. And, those flatbread pieces are tasty. But it's not exactly healthy, no. But I seem to be in the minority here, because I actually like Quizno's quite a bit, I just don't eat there very often. Of course, there are a lot of Subway eaters around here, and I'd rather eat my own foot than even step inside one of those.

I don't think Jo's back, or if he is, he's recovering. He hasn't been online in any capacity today.

I don't know ... I think I did a pretty darn good job of posting ... both stupid posts on all.

I mean .. it even included voilence which of course my fav topic.

I'm with you Jada - Quizno's isn't offensive enough to actively hate. That being said, I'm looking forward to trying their salads. Although I was actively looking forward to their [fill in blank] sandwich. How can a toasty melty sandwich be so . . . blah?

Oh, Diz, your posts are the ones I look forward to the most. Especially the violence-filled ones. If there's anyone who knows violence, it's Texans.

Although, they do have a pickle bar.

Dammit! Retry - I thought I had figured out linking.

Woah, dude. Mucho lightning. Hm. I hope we don't lose power in the building. Then I couldn't work out . . . .

Hee hee, Miu, I would be sad if I caught a Quizno's sponge monkey in my mouse trap - but only b/c he'd be dead & I'd much rather have him alive in the world . . . .
