Wow, I'm boring. Actually, I'm poor. Really poor. Shamefully poor. WAY poorer than a responsible 30 year old with a well-paying job should be. We're talking 4.18 to my name poor. ('til payday on Friday, that is)
So, let's explore two themes: What do you do for food when you're broke? For me, I start to open all the weird tinfoil and saran wrapped items in the freezer, and if that doesn't turn up anything edible - I buy a dozen eggs and subsist on that. What's your solution? Do you revert back to ramen and mac and cheese? Or something more creative?
And of course, what's for lunch today?

I'm doing everything on the cheap these days, too, Ethics.
Another $2.49 special (ham and turkey Mondays).
I never eat ramen at home, but I've been known to keep a few in my desk drawer for desparate times.
It's amazing how much edible food you have when you're really hungry. When the finances hit the red, I buy beer and cigarettes and take expired vitamins.
Yes, it's times like these when all those random cans of soup and beans and those frozen peas get consumed. Luckily, I kind of knew this was coming this week, and stocked up on a handle of vodka, so really, I'm all set.
I also always hope for conference room leftovers, though the getting's not as good in nonprofit as it was in the corporate world.
So, everyday, Subway has a different $2.49 sandwich? I might need to look into that.
I hear that on the nonprofit lack of freebies.
The $2.49 specials seem to be offered regionally. My buddy just up the road in Milwaukee can't get it. I also realized that it's not an Au Bon Pan right down the street, but a Boudin Bakery. Any experience with this entity?
"Up the road" and "down the street" right there. Weird.
