quickie

The czar sends his apologies for his no-show ass....he's "busy".... ;)

And I am not prepared with an interesting topic....so just let the wild rumpus lunching discussion begin!

If anyone has a certain topic in mind then throw it out there!

WFL bitches???!

What happens when someone procrastinates for 6 months?

A very busy last working day of the year.

Peep: is that code for "my office was stormed by the police today"?

I'm putting out a lot of checks today. Mostly to people whom I would rather punch in the throat than pay. Oddly enough, it seems my desire to punch them in the throat is directly proportional to the amount of money I am sending them instead. (No causal relationship there. Like the perfect pitch thing, it's not the fact that I have to send them money that pisses me off; for some unknown reason, though, the people who piss me off the most also tend to be the people who I send the most money to. You would think those would be the people most aiming to please me, but the fuckers who get half a million dollars' worth of business from me - and who are getting a check for $145,000 from me today - didn't even send a Christmas gift. Half a mil for a lousy card? Fuckers...)

There's not much going on at the office today, so I think I might put lunch off until I'm out of the office, which I'm hoping is around 2PM. Then, I'll swing by the czar's office and make fun of him for still being at work while I knock down a brown bag from Ollie's Trolley.

Anyone else even working today?

Work is done. Off to buy my secret santa gift and then procrastinate for a bit till the big office holiday party...

Well, that was a busy day for you Jo! What was that, a whole half-hour?

Lunch today is holiday party leftovers. 1/2 pulled chicken sammie, small bite of turducken, caesar salad (avoiding the mushy croutons), veggie plate, antipasto plate. In a couple of hours, I'll be back for a slice of Costco-cake. White cake with choco mousse inside & buttercream frosting. Snarf. I'm so fat.

I think next year I'll throw out an idea of an all-bacon party. Screw the jew & the vegetarian. No, wait, I can be inclusive. We'll also have turkey bacon & fakin' bacon. Oh, yay! I'm so excited!

On a completely unrelated note, I totally know what I'm renting when I have my summer party next year.

This little HaterTot has an interview at 2:15. No lunch til after, but the interview is at a Starbucks downtown. (the job would be in...Old Town...which you all know I'm not wholly comfortable with) I will have tea, or perhaps a gingerbread latte. I like those things, but they remind me of xmas, and hence have been deemed "evil" in my mind.

I want one of those MargaritaMan things in my house. I need that and a gaming system and I'll be unemployed for life.

Wooooo! Old Town!!! Sweet. This means we will have to have old town happy hours.

Good luck, HT! And sorry I didn't respond to your Continental text last night - I was drunk & on my way home. And when I got there I almost immediately fell asleep on my porn couch. Snoooooooore.

I have avoided doing work all day so far. I have resorted to what I, as a temp do best. Appear to do work.

I applied to get a new Social Security card, went to the SS office and now I'm just 2 weeks from a new card.

I also had as my solstice lunch a sammie from the cafe. I did a good job building it.

Shortest day of the year folks.

Wrong Sunshine, tomorrow's the shortest day of the year, b/c they're letting us out at 2. Today I have to work until whenever to get my 8 hours in.

yo, i'm with rosie-que on the whole "people are fucking crazy at the end of the year" thing. it's not like december 31st equals the end of the world! i mean, january 2007 is another day.

i had fatbelly for lunch today: chix salad on wheat with peppers and extra pickles. my mouth was burning. then i had a chocolate truffle after, and now i feel like a fatbellied cow. good thing i've taken up that running stuff.

i'll be in LA all next week, so hopefully i can check in with you all from the better coast...i'm gonna have in-n-out, REAL mexican food, korean bbq 50 ways 'til sunday. sooooooo excited!!!!!!!!

Yay! I'm eating my choco truffle from yesterday which has a delightful raspberry flavoured center. Yum! And I just had my performance review, which was good! Huzzah! So nice to get a good review.

I have picked up yet another consulting gig (though, this one is apt to turn permanent in a few months). Apparently I'm a consultant now. The transition from Freelance Philospher (what I'm calling my current "job") to "Development Consultant" could be tough... less Magnum in the days ahead. Havent' eaten yet though. Need to do something about that to try to get to a class at the gym at 6.

Hey, that's great! Congrats, HT!

Hey, LT - this joint will have parking for me in Feb, until then, I may need to uh, "borrow" one of your parking spots. I'll make it worth your while though - I'll pay for it in vodka or something.

LizTurtle said...

Ha ha! No problem. Will allow parking for vodka. Also, will allow parking for local happy hours. That's the real reason I'm excited about your new job.

LizTurtle said...

Where exactly is the office?

HaterTot said...

300 N. Washington; I guess it's Washington and Queen. It will probably take me less time to get there from here, than it does for me to get downtown in the mornings.

LizTurtle said...

Cool - that's like 4.5 blocks from my house.

HaterTot said...

That's what the map told me. Shouldn't be bad. Plus, we can do happy hours in Old Town! I haven't had a Moment of Clarity in ages.
