Who delivers

Sorry to the poster for today, but I got impatient. I'll take this down if necessary

SO I am liad up with terrible back pain again today and lunch ain't making itself. So My question for the community is this:

When you don't want to make food, who do you call, and what do they bring?

The sad thing is that nobody delivers enough bacon to satisfy my needs.

SO I hobbled across the street and picked up some d grade bacon and some eggs. Now if I can stand in front of the skillet long enough, I'll have some breakfast for lunch today.

I got Eddie to deliver for dinner last ight, so I'll have the leftovers for dinner tonight

Eddie, call Eddie.

I bet he's already on the way

Yeah, Eddie knew last night that we'd be talking delivery today, so he got here a good 15 hours early. That guy does it right.

how'd you hurt your back again?

I think the Newton house keeps Eddie in business. They should really just move their locale to Mt. Pleasant.

I do the Boli's too...recently it's been the white pizza with chicken, tomatoes and broccoli with a side of marinara and a greek salad or chicken wings.

Other than that, the options are limited. HT and I were discussing delivery options the other week. I think we both agree that someone needs to deliver burritos and fajitas. Maybe some taquitos too.

I don't often order delivery, b/c my delivery menu collection is sadly lacking. I just got thai Sunday night & I wasn't very impressed with it, so unless I'm totally averse to going out to pick up something & am craving thai, I don't see ordering from there anytime soon. More often, I'll order for pickup, b/c you can pick pretty much any restaurant you want. But if your back is out of commission, I guess that doesn't help. Sorry!

I almost bought bacon at the store last night. I'm half-regretting it & half-proud of myself. Except that it's not like I don't have a ton of other stuff at home to make me fat.

WFL is more blah pad thai. Breakfast was a sprinkle donut for someone's birthday. It was goooooood, but I'm totally sugar-crashing now. That was a big donut.

I'm stuck at work rewriting this document balls (my apparently illiterate employee) wrote up for this meeting i have at one o'clock so this girl from work is picking me up something while she is out...

yay delivery.

im starting my own little pool on what she comes back with. Right now it's only me involved in the pool so it's not nearly as exciting as i would hope (but i got some kickass squares).

speaking of pools, did anything ever happen with that death pool idea?

is Mr Bennet from Heros evil or is he just doing what is necessary to save the world... like the punisher.. with glasses..

Dude, I miss Eddie.

I miss Eddie real bad.

That dude was awesome oppossum. I still remember that first time I ordered from Eddie, and he showed up at the door in about 13 minutes. Lady A, I don't think he needs to move his location since he clearly rolls around cooking in the back of a van that is like a self-contained food delivery unit. I like to think of Eddie Cafe as General Tso's Cavalry for rapid response deployment.

I still love the Pizza House, but I know wd thinks that's bullshit. From time to time, their subs kind of do me right, and they're usually quick in the day time. The Tono sushi is a good call, although (as is always the case with the raw fish) I tend to grossly overspend.

And, please note, mikeysunshine, that this is all neighborhood-specific and nothing you don't already know. If you're still making out with that dude at the 7-Eleven, I bet you could call him up to bring you some of those new Chili Pie Go-Go Taquitos.

I don't know what's for lunch today. I'm thinking an overstuffed sandwich and a cup of soup (whatever the special is) from the deli across the street. It's that kind of day...

Tono does do a good sushi-on-wheels. Bagel roll me!

M, I wish I knew where the back injury came from. But there was no acute instance of lifting something wrong, or twisting wrong, or riding on a tractor wrong. It must just be that my back gave out from carying around all this extra sexy that I've got.

ANd LT, we may have a dirty house that is falling apart; We may be the house on the block that is keeping the hood down. THere may be animal parts on our back porch, but Sushi gets delivered to the front door, and that makes this a castle... plus the pool table, and kegerators... those help too.

Pizza House is dead to me.

THem fuckers, in addition to many past failures, last Tuesday screwed themselves out of a customer.

We ordered an extra Large Greek Pie and a medium cheese Pizza. SOme how the bill was about $30 and those douchebags sent a small cheese pizza in a medium box, and a medium supreme in an extra large box.

It's not that this one instance killed them for me, it's that this was the shadiest deal from the shadiest bunch of fuckers in a shady hood.

Amazingly, I appeared to have eaten the greasy pad thai and not gotten any on my white silk shirt. It's a miracle!

In my sad little neighborhood, the only pizza option is Dominos, which is really almost as bad as no pizza at all. But apparently Pizza Boli will also deliver. I've been leery--is Boli any good? Otherwise, the good folks at Talay Thai and some joint w/ Hunan in the title (I've been ordering from there for 5 years and still can't remember the correct name)keep me supplied with panang curry and twice-cooked pork, respectively. Both freakishly fast.

Heliocentric said...

LT, I don't believe you. What's next? Spaghetti?

I would believe that you didn't spill on a white shirt. I'd believe you didn't spill ona silk shirt, But a white Silk Shirt?

Either you're fibbing, or the stain just hasn't hit yet. Beware while snacking my friend.

Met Mrs. WD for lunch in Bethesda at an Argentinian place called Divino's ( i think). Pretty good lunch special, salad with goat cheese and almond slices, monk fish with grilled veggies, and tarimisu (sp?) for dessert. Not too shabby. Plus the long metro ride meant I was out of the office for 2 hours, and no one seemed to notice. Even better

e-que, get the princeton review for GRE. It has lots of nerdly cheating tactics that really help. Those ivy leaguer's really know how to cheat! I tell you! That's the only explanation for how W managed to eak out a C average

I opted for the BLT Ranch Crispy Chicken Sandwich from McDonald's today. I read a little John Barth whilst wolfing it down.

Now, back to some proper mixed CD-creatin'.

Oooh, good luck Eque! Tests are a bitch, aren't they?!

Mikey, I swear, it's true! It's a pre-Thanksgiving miracle! I am afraid, though, that my joy is premature . . . I'm sure to get home, take it off, put it on the hanger, only to discover the red greasy spot the next time I decide to wear it. And of course, it wouldn't be until after arriving at the office. Damn. I'm not looking forward to the next time I wear this shirt.

I'm tired & bored & a little headachy. Maybe I should go home & nap.

My favorite part of The Princeton Review book for the LSAT was the line in the introduction that went something like this: "If you have 2 to 6 months until your sitting for the LSAT, then we recommend you start at the beginning and work through to the end. If you have a month or two, then focus most of your time on Chapters 2, 5, and 7. If you have a week or two, then we applaud your bravado and wish you the best of luck."

I've been ordering from Radius alot lately.
The pizza's very good and I always order the anchovie and roasted pepper appetizer.
And the other day I discovered their spinach app.

Good stuff.

Had a box lunch at a meeting.

Big club sandwich.

Very tasty.

There was a mini cannoli for desert. Not so good.

Mikey,

When gourmands such as yourself are suffering from back pain, I usually recommend sleeping on a bed of cold ham. It both minimizes swelling and eliminates the need to prepare meals.

Sincerely,

Tony

(By the way, if you don't like ham, try substituting racks of lamb.)
