7/6/06 how late is breakfast, how early is lunch?

So as I come off of a week of 18 hour work days and go in to 5 weeks of the same, I took a little personal time this morning. I slept in. It was wonderful, but now I have the dilema of food needs. The ol' belly needs grub, but what kind? It is used to eating egg, bacon, fruit, scrapple, oatmeal, coffee, hashbrownsm and all other likes of Breakfast food, but it is after 10:00, so McDonalds and many other food joints have a cut off for serving breakfast. I am not quite ready to think about a buffalo chicken sandwich, or a salad. What is a man to do? I don't want to be fenced in by breakfast hours, but I might not be able to make it until actual lunch time. What would you do in my circumstances? Find a greasy spoon and have them make me breakfast, or suck it up and have lunch early? I don't know, but if perhaps you let us know what you're having for lunch today, it will help me make a decision and get out of bed.

Egg salad sandwich. It's got eggs, so it's semi-breakfasty & you can get it all day at most delis. God that sounds good. I'm hungry after my breakfast of Krispy Kremes & Koffee.

the old kkk breakfast.

LizTurtle said...

Agh! Oh, that's not going to help things. What was that Simpson's with Krusty's Komedy Klassic & it had a gigantic 'KKK' behind him on stage?

Egg salad sandwich with bacon.

The KKK is funny.

Funny gay I mean.

fantastic reference LT. Nice

Ima try to take a company car and go to Quizno's. I've decided, I will do without brekky and go straight to a toasty sammie instead.

funny like bad egg salad?

ANybody ever seen woody allen's movie What's up Tiger Lilly?

It was an old timey spy movie that he got the rights to, I don't think he actually filmed it... I hope he didn't film it anywise. But he brought in voice actors and re did the entire soundtrack, so instead of state secrets and drama, they were trying to recover a fantastic egg salad recepie. I thought it was the funniest movie when I was in middle school, I wonder if it holds any humor now.

Ask them to fry an egg and drop it on your sammie, with some bacon. Then you've got a breakfast sangwich, good to go! (must kill taco hell)

Breakfast burger with bacon and lots of hot sauce.

How about a burger made out of breakfast sausage?

Heart-attack-a-licious!

LizTurtle said...

Oooh! Oooooh! First start with 1/2 pound of premium-grade hamburger, then put on cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, and bacon. Then top it off with a fried egg. They call it . . . 'the good morning burger'.

Heliocentric said...

I kept the key ingrediant in any decent breakfast... pig meat. Hell, I had two kinds of pig meat. Ham and bacon. But I went with the lunch food option. Quizno's Honey bacon Club. I'll tell ya, them fellas make a good sammie, thouge it isn't really toasty like they lead me to believe in their ads.

I guess it's above rom temperature, but either the speed is too high or the temp is too low on their walk through toaster today, cuz, It's like I could have gotten better results with a bic lighter and a little patience.

I think on the good morning burger, I'd rather put a poached egg on it than a fried, sunny side up, or over easy egg. I mean I like the egg goo when i have a plate to catch it and a toast to sop it up with, but I just see yolk all up in my lap and on my shirt and prolly in my hair, cuz I've been that bad at eating accuracy lately.

so hungry, and no time to eat.
stupid work.

Hey...check us out!! Google "Quizno's salads"

HaterTot said...

WOW - check us OUT! Quizno's should really pay us... with free salads and sandwiches...

Mikey, were I you, and I often am, in the sense that I don't wake up before 10 or so on weekends, I always opt for the late brekky. I'd rather eat breakfast food all day, than have to eat other food too early. I'd have had an egg, bacon, tomato grilled cheese sandwich.

Instead, I'm eating chicken leftover from the fourth and cheese. I don't know why.

LT and her silly neo-Nazi references.

Miu, Disney is the happiest place on earth, in case you didn't know.

Quizno's Quizno's Quizno's Quizno's Quizno's Quizno's Quizno's Quizno's Quizno's Quizno's Quizno's Quizno's Quizno's Quizno's Quizno's Quizno's Quizno's Quizno's
They got a pickle bar

Maybe they'll start paying us now. I'm so excited we were top 5 on google. And also, that my name (or at least abbreviation) shows up on the short summary. Although I am with Mikey on the hotness of Quizno's. And I was just having a convo with a co-worker a couple of days ago about this! They need to run that shit through twice (whoops, did I just blow our chances of payment? oh well). In fact, next time I go there for anything, I'm going to ask them to run it through twice. It's always cold by the time I get back to my office. :-(

Lunch was the chicken pesto burrito (special this month!) from CA Tortilla. Good! Not really mexican (well, maybe to Mr. Uni's family?), but pesto-y tasty.

Now i'm thinking I should have had QUIZNO'S for lunch, instead of a lame ol' salad. I could have got a QUIZNO'S salad instead, they are much yummier indeed. oh yeah, QUIZNO'S. did i mention QUIZNO'S?

Although I actually endorse breakfast foods at any time, if I had been here earlier I would have been forced tot ell you to suck it up. Instead I was supervising a field trip to the water park and had a kids boxed lunch: turkey sandwich, plum, apple juice and an oatmeal [no raisins] cookie.

I feel like a Franzia shuffle now.

LizTurtle said...

Is the Franzia shuffle anything like the Superbowl shuffle?

Pancakes & bacon for dinner are the best.

Heliocentric said...

Franzia shuffle sounds like a box wine hangover.

Lady A said...

Speaking of the Franzia shuffle...

Just as a heads up, tomorrow's post will be focused on the next OWFL Conference: An Anniversary Affair to Remember. So start gathering your thoughts on that one kids. No need to discuss today, just be prepared for tomorrow!

. i got the curried pumpkin and lamb and damn, it was so great. they need to bring in something like that here to dc.

Unknown said...

PUNJABI BURRITO RULES!

Hey DC folk! I need advice...meeting up with a friend for dinner tonight. Looking for something reasonably priced and offers at least a few dishes that are more on the healthy side. Trying to stay in the NW quadrant.

Anyone? anyone??? Bueller? Bueller?

I'd love to make it to a conference. Only thing is that I am out of any respectable town until August 3rd.

Heliocentric said...

Tonic is pretty good Unicorn, and the location can't be beat for your location. I mean upstairs.

Also there is a good vietnamese place up in cleveland park... actually there are a lot of good places in Cleveland park. There's that one with the roof deck. I'd go there just to check it out. Assuming that it is as nice in DC today as it is in Schenectady.

Hey Unicorn and/or Watchdog, could one of you see if my rent check is still on the corkboard by the laundry room? I'd appreciate it if that could get to the old land lord if it ain't gone out yet.

Josephus said...

Wait till Mikey hears where the conference is...

And Tonic is no longer on my list of places to send people to eat. Maybe they have a new cook or something but the food is not good anymore. 5, count'em, FIVE other people have told me the same thing in the last few weeks.

HaterTot said...

I'm with Jo on Tonic, but what about Radius? I don't know NW that well, well, especially not the part up by y'all. But there are all those restaurants in those _______ Park places (Cleveland/Woodley/What have you)?

Unknown said...

but tonic does have tots. and you gotta love the tots.

uni, i'd go to regent thai on 18th street near lauriol. that place is my favorite thai place in dc...a tad bit more expensive than thaiphoon, but a notch up in flavor and quality. their pad siew and drunken noodles are the BOMB!

yes, SF is magical, especially marin county, which is where my best friend and her hubby live. it's always sunny there and doesn't have a thick layer of marine fog all summer long as it does in the city. and those punjabi burritos...i'm telling you, between tailor's refresher and avatar's, i don't think that anything can beat california cuisine. california has the best food hands down.

damn, my lungs are aching. planes are just germ carrying hunks of metal flying through the air.

i just had rice, kimchi, and dried salted toasted seaweed. it is poor man's food.

Sigh. I am never going to lose any weight. We just had a goodbye party for someone in the office who's moving to Boston. There was: chips (potato and tortilla), 7-layer dip, crab dip, spinach-artichoke dip, 3 kinds of cheese with crackers, cheese ball (which I'm pretty sure I've waxed poetic about here on the blog before), choco-choco cake, choco mini-muffins, some cookies, beer, beer, beer, Mike-aritas (Mike's hard lime-ade in the big bottle with ice in a blender). Um, and that might be it. Oh god, I love the cheese ball. And the beer. I have so much work to do on my place, and I'm so unmotivated right now to do it . . . .
