16 servings of cheap pilsner last night? Attracted to a 6” seafood sandwich you saw being ordered and need someone to talk to? Feel like something pasta-y, but not exactly? This is what terrorizes our nation’s workers every day. It is ever-present, in the back of our minds--riding on the train, up the elevator, in that meeting. But these are simply facets of the one great question. The answer to which must be provided before we can ever grasp contentment. What’s for lunch?

Never heard of Cloud berries. Sounds dreamy.
My WFB was Aunt Jemmimah in a Log Cabin. Waffles w/ syrup.
WFL today, must be fast and cheap.
I don't know about no cloudberries, But in Heaven there's a razzleberry waterfall with my name on it!
Lunch is with the former co-worker who refuses to ever leave...just kidding I'm gonna miss her dearly, but this is the 39th going away lunch now. Probably will hit Art Gallery Grill.
i had tator tots this morning. if we had a toaster oven at work, i'd have tator tots at lunch.
Cloudberries sound related to Shnozzberries...so hopefully they come with a side of chocolate waterfall and a golden ticket.
Lunch will probably be Subway. I need something cheap and quick as well. I would go downstairs to the cafe but I'm starting to realize how much of a rip-off they are.
WFB: coffee. WFMMS (mid morning snack): coffee. Oh, wait, I have a muffin. Perhaps I will have some muffin.
WFL: egg salad sammich! I hope it's better than my disappointment yesterday. It's a 2-egger the bread isn't big enough, so I'll need to take a fork & do the lean so I don't wind up with egg all over me. I just wish I had put some onions on it . . . .
Are cloudberries another name for Ligonberries? I love ligonberries but am clueless on the cloud variety of berries.
I had coffee and granola with strawberries and yogurt for breakfast.
I am going to go take a nap now and when I wake I think I will eat a leftover turkey wing and maybe some aspargus. I have a ton of it because it was 99 cents a pound at Jewel and now I must eat it all before it goes bad.
From whence do cloudberries hail?
I am a big proponent of olallieberries, but you can't get them out here I don't think. Thems strictly a west side berry. And you know, there ain't no berry like a west coast berry.
No idea WFL. Having a late, but sure to be delish dinner at Sonoma w/ TheBestFriend. Suggestions?
I know I'm new, but I need help. I'm going out for kabob sandwiches (kabobwiches?) with a co-worker. The question--do we share a side of hummus, or do I get baklava?
Molly, live large and get both. I would choose babaganouj over hummus, though. But, to each their own. La la la la la!
molly - you do both. get some hummus to munch on with your kabobwich and save the baklava for a late afternoon pick-me up.
Oh, molly, why make a choice? Do both! Come on - hummus is "healthy"!
Unicorn:
I like the way you think. My only objection to getting both was to avoid that "too full" feeling.
Thanks for the options all!
Molly I don't get it. Kabobs are on a stick and sandwiches are between breadlike products. If you remove the stick, the sandwich works, but in my mind, no stick = no kabob.
I'd get a side of Hummus and have coworker get another side (cucumber salad?) that way you can have variety and sharing. Everybody loves sharing.
Molly, get a side of taboulli or whatever cucumber salad they have.
A kebab is a kebab b/c it's cooked on a stick. Makes no difference when the stick is removed.
Mmmm . . . hummus. I may need to go get some to augment my egg sammich. I never went & got my pita yesterday.
Nothing but energy drinks for the day. I am drinking Arizona Energy Drink .. which has made me super dehydrated and headachy.
I have to go fix a computer for a personal customer during lunch.
Arrrgh. No lunch!!!
Peep - chicken schwarma
Yay to peep for pimping firefox!!!
Molly, I'm with the rest of the kids on both. You can always save the baklava for brekky tomorrow.
I just returned from the "House of Kabob" and there've been some changes: (1) the baklava has been replaced with a baklava-type pastry filled w/ cashews, which HT knows will kill me; (2) there's a midget working the counter (yes, HT, a midget); and (3) the "side order of hummus" is now a vat of hummus large enough for said midget to swim in--I have snacks for the rest of the week. So it was a good news/bad news kind of lunch.
Gaklava with cashews?!? I've never heard of such a thing! I'm not greek, but I think that's sacriligeous. Or maybe . . . sacrilicious? Um, not for you, molly. For me.
Um, gaklava?
Baklava can be made with cashews, pistachios or walnuts.
Gaklava sounds like something that would make you vomit.
Just got back from lunch at The Art Gallery Grill. I had a Mexican Wrap. roast chicken, guac, lettuce, tomato, onions and salsa. Chips on the side with ginger ale. Service was verrrrrrry slow as we were on of three tables NOT outside and all the attention was given to the outsiders.
My cousin might be moving to Haifa.
Jo - the comment about your cousin has no relevancy to lunch, lunching or food. Please continue that discussion on the other post....
SNAP!!! Take that Czar.
Actually my Haifa comment relates directly to Peep's lunch comment so "lick it up baby, lick it up!"
I DID read peep's post...his comment relates directly to food that HE consumed for LUNCH...umm...did your cousin make the pita in Haifa for him or start singing "Jaaamba! Jaamba!" Jaaaamba!" like Natalie Portman on her SNL sketch while serving an orange/carrot juice blend with a free boost??!! NO...I don't f'ing think so...so get off it..lunch nazi!
Natalie Portman is hot.
And she can wrap.
I'd eat her for lunch.
With some tahini sauce and a side of taboulleh.
I meant "rap".
My keyboard is on crack.
Uni regulating! I love it!
Lunch today cost $5.24. If I had the same thing every day (#1 + nuggets) for a year that would work out to $1921.60
Is that good or bad sunshine?
If you had that everyday for a year it would cost you a lot more than that, it would cost your life!
Watchdog has a point.
Unicorn, I don't know if that's good or bad, I was just doing math at work and tried to project some of those skills to my personal life.
I'd hate to think about eating McFood for a year and spending 2 grand on it.
I spent $20 at McD's over the weekend...I've never spent that much at mcdonalds...that's like 20 frosties at wendy's....
I got 40 nuggets, two cheeseburgers, two large fries and two sodas. The nuggets were to share with others at a post-wedding hotel room party and the hamburger I left in my room to get room temp. and then I ate the hell out of it as I climbed into bed later that evening...I thought of you HT!
