Diz check out the REal Pet Professional.

Seriously Jo, is that the best you can do? I'm not sure what I want for lunch, something kind of light I'm thinking because i am going to be consuming mass quantities of BBQ for dinner. I have also been informed that I need to be prepared to do birthday shots.

I log onto the blog at 11 and find NOTHING. When was the last time Miss Jade or Rico posted?

Lunch can be nothing but salad today. Maybe Soprafina.

Josephus said...

I used to love Soprafina in Chicago. Sadly there isn't one here in DC.

The Doctor said...

Oh, and I dug the post, Jo.

Now that I am much in hate with Blogger tech support (or the severe lack of), I will vent my rage later today on the Houston Bayou by trying to pound out 6.2 mi in less than 54min.

Jo, that link made me almost lose the del.icio.us breafast of "Choco Java Lava" coffee (this is akin to hot liquid dark chocolate ... mmmm) and toasted sesame seed bagel w/ peanut butter schmear.

What does everyone else do (for exercise) to increase the appetite?

I know that the more excercise I have done made me far more aware (and picky) of what I am eating. I'm trying to over come the %10 of body fat I developed with this desk job (oh why oh why can't I travel again?).

Today I'm finishing up the last of the veggie soup that I made on Monday...thank god...four lunches in a row of the same soup was starting to bring me down!!

What I am excited about is superbowl sunday!! I'm heading to a friend's house who is doing a B.Y.O.F.F (fried food) party. They are setting up a few fat vats to dip and fry to your heart's content! I'm thinking corn dogs, broccoli bites and chocolate chimis....what i won't think is the extra 5 miles I'll need to jog the next day...!

Jo, didn't Pixar totally rip off the plotline from the gNovel?

Josephus said...

The Incredibles ripped off alot of stuff. But Watchmen goes much further and is not for kids.

I have soy sauce all over my desk from my nigiri falling apart on me. Curses! I had the big bite sushi today! Didn't anyone listen?? God, this is truly the best rainbow roll EVER.

LizTurtle said...

Oh, and Diz - exercise to increase my appetite? I just think about food and I increase my appetite. Exercise! Ha ha ha!

Lunch question for the WFLers. If you go out with someone & eat out or pick up lunch, what do you do when you come back & hear through the grapevine that someone is 'upset' that they weren't invited. Do you a) ignore it unless they actually say something to you. b) say 'WTF? Do I look like the Lunch Baron? c) roll eyes & say "Sorry, I'll let you know next time.

WTF???

having the same lunch as abs. and of course, raspberry zazz too. this is the most amazing drink ever. the best flavor is black cherry though...so tasty.

i told abs not to be ashamed of eating the same lunch as me. then i burped. she is not even paying attention. my charm has worn off.

Unknown said...

LT -- ignore them. who needs to waste their time with something so immature. is s/he pouting?

i'd go to cvs and buy this person some pampers.

Hello WFL blogsphere! I'm heading up to the great white north so will be having lunch at National (not Reagan!) airport. I think i'll hit the sports bar place and get a good ol' fashioned burger.

My plans of eating light got shot right out of the water when I arrived at the office and said I wanted Chinese. Lisa and I ordered two full entree's [not lunch specials] of Hunan Beef and Sesame Shrimp plus egg rolls, crab rangoon and steamed dumplings. And then we found out our order was so expensive we qualified for free Chicken Lo Mein, so we have that coming, too. For two people! We are going to eat HUGE! Plus, I am going to gorge tonight. Looks like I am going to need to detox the rest of the weekend.

I'm going to eat at Mediaeval Times tomorrow, as featured in the movie The Cable Guy. I'm going to get either the mutton or the big lamb shank. awwww yeah

Jada said...

Watchdog, are you going to be in Chicago?

Unknown said...

medieval times? watchdog, will there be jousting?

eating a giant lamb shank always looked so gross to me...not because i don't like lamb, but just because the commercials always showed people holding them with the grease teeming down their arm and fingertips.

Hi everyone.

Jo - I thought the post was good. It's hard to be consistently witty and prolific. Keep on, keepin' on.

LT - eff that shit. What, are we six? You don't have to put up with that crap. If s/he has a problem, but is just going to passive-agrressively whine to others about it, that isn't your problem. (oh, and welcome to our office - that is how everything goes down there)

Jade - yummy, Chinese food!! And shots!! Sake bombs!!

James - I can't even think about working out. Well, I can, but as abs and lachoi saw last night, that ain't happenin' any time soon.

Unicorn - will they be frying turkey?? I love me some fried turkey!

W'dog - good to see you. Medeival Times is awesome. You know, they have one up at Arundel Mills - we should plan an OWFL outing, though, it's pricey. I also want to plan an OWFL outing to the Rennaisance Festival next fall - turkey legs, mead and Maryland's Official State Sport of Jousting AND you get to throw knives and axes!! Awesome.

For lunch we snacked on fresh veggies - FINALLY delivered from Peapod (so. much. grocery delivery. drama.) TheBestFriend broke into the Vernor's and proclaimed that she likes the burning. Weird kid, that one. (I stuck to diet coke, thank you)

Last night abs, lachoi and TheFormerRoommate all came over, but it wore me out. I think I was feeling better than I actually am, because today I ache everywhere between my neck and my waist. AND, no more wine - even that little bit (I'm guessing in combo w/ the leftover anesthetic and perky-set(thank you Jade - I've been saying that all day!)) made me get all pukey in the middle of the night last night.

So, for the rest of the day, I've got some Magnum PI watching scheduled, and I'm going to have a look at the girls in the mirror for the first time. (Only saw the view lying on my back yesterday, and they didn't move! No flopping to the sides!!) And lots of painkiller induced sleep.

Thanks for all the well wishes!! I miss yinz guys!

Went for the antipasti trio. Cannellini bean with minced arugula and feta, Quinoa with diced peppers, cilantro and soy nuts, and chicken curry. This is a lot of food.

Hey HT.

Unknown said...

HT!!! sorry we made you throw up...

Josephus said...

LT the answer is C. As professional lunchers we should remember to always be inclusive. No need to get snarky back at them. We are better lunchers than that.

Jade watchdog is going to Toronto to see Missus dawg.

HT, I am trying to decide when to come visit and bring you some books (graphic novels) and dvd's. Let me know.

Had lunch with some workmates at Nooshi. I had the peking duck, soup and a couple pieces from a bbq eel roll. Had one drink and still feel a tad loopy.

Dinner at Jaleo in Bethesda tonight. Looking to get drunk late night.

blecch.

Lady A said...

Hey HT!!

SEE!! You are totally still witty, functional and sociable with smaller breasts!!

Let me know when you are up for guests...I'll bring you a lasagna or something!

I love me some HaterTot!

Josephus said...

Yacht Rock baby.

Yacht Rock.

Josephus said...

Yacht Rock!

LizTurtle said...

Hm, Jo, that is an interesting viewpoint & a different one than everyone else has answered. I think my problem with answer C is that then I'll feel like I have to go around to everyone, or send an email around & do far more organization than I was prepared to do; as I mentioned, I am not Lunch Baron™. If I had a smaller office, I would do it, but it's too many (~20) people. The other mitigating factor is that hardly anyone goes out for lunch. They are, for the most part, health or financial-conscious.

I've never had Zazz, but it makes me think of that song from early on in 'Evita' when she's doing a commercial:
There is no soap, no soap like Zazz
No detergent, lotion, or oil with such power
In the shower
It's the mother & father of luxury lather
The talk of the bath, the great ointment
One little frolic with new Zazz carbolic
Be scented, you'll be sent

See Jo, you're not the only one who can quote lyrics. That being said, I'm thoroughly confused by Yacht Rock. Is that anything like the short-lived Fox fiasco 'Cop Rocks'?

Josephus said...

It's just like Cop Rock except it's awesome.

LT I know have a different opion than the others but I've always been a "be kind, rewind" type. Unlike those other heartless bastards...

Jada said...

I don't know what cop rocks is, but by god I love pop rocks. There is nothing like fizzing, foaming candy to make me happy.

LizTurtle said...

Jade!! This is important!! Never EVER eat pop rocks with Coke! That's what killed Mikey!

Do you ever get one between your front teeth & bite down on it? You could kill someone that way. Awesome.

Jo, you are a much kinder person than me. But maybe that goes without saying.

LizTurtle said...

Damn, I'm jonesing for pop rocks now. I may take a jaunt over to the CVS on this fine afternoon. Not that they'll have them, but there's not a 7-11 around here. I'll probably have to settle for conversation hearts. "As if" "I luv U" & my favorite, their attempt to update their sayings "Fax Me". Aw! So romantic!

LizTurtle said...

Damn, these people are serious.

Luv U!

dizkonekdid said...

HT - YEAAAAHHH!!! Glad to see you back. Hope you're not on your back to long [winces at REALLY bad pun].

LT - unless they are close enough to be on a chat program as well ... well then we usually just pick them up in the hall by chance. Chat programs are the best for getting together lunch outings. Its done here all the time. Jo is right though. No need to be defensive and snappish.

Jade and Jo - Indie Pops Rocks on www.somafm.com is good. Actually, I'm going to admit one thing. I think Steely Dan is over-hyped. The band so much like The Dead. If you don't go to a concert, and I haven't for Steely Dan, you just don't ever "get it". That is not to say that I couldn't, but the softest I get with my music enjoyment is usually Green Day or Radio Head. Dave Grohl rocks out with his c_ck out.

LaChoi - I love you, you're one of the only people here that stays on-topic. If I didn't know you I would think you're a hardass but I know its that all you ever think about it fooooood!!!

:) Cheers to all those celebrating (breasts, birthdays, and beer ... all good combos) have a good and safe weekend.

LizTurtle said...

Dammit, I don't know why I can't do links.
Argh.

LizTurtle said...

Ok, my last word on my lunch snubbing: it's someone who's kind of snotty & quick to make snide remarks. So I'm not inclined to go out of my way. As I said before, Jo, (and apparently Diz), you are nicer people than me. :-) Said with all sincerity!

Diz, that one paragraph in your last post has a whole new meaning when you keep in mind the fact that Steely Dan was named after a dildo. Hee hee!

Josephus said...

Diz you are way off on The Dan. But that's cool.

Happy weekend everyone, and happy b-day jadey.

LizTurtle said...

Happy b-day Jade!

Oh my god. I just got back from CVS (sigh, no pop-rocks) & was thoroughly disgusted by all the red & heart-y decoration, but then I discovered Peeps Hearts with artifical strawberry creme flavour. It tastes like Nestle Strawberry Quik. Droooooool.
