a lunch activity and HT update

today, i'm not only asking what everyone is having for lunch, but also offering a procrastination activity to pass the time away while you are munching on your sandwich or devouring your chicken parm. remember, people AND dinosaurs LOVE LUNCH! (if you scroll down, you'll see t-rex enjoying a tasty sandwich...i love it.)

HATERTOT UPDATE
i'm talking to her on speakerphone with abs right now. she's doing very well! a bit sore, but not in a lot of pain. they put her on the morphine all night, and she said that it was "pretty sweet".

she was very touched by all of your well wishes yesterday. she says "thank you for being so sweet and so nice and thinking of me and the girls." she will be up and blogging soon so stay tuned.

all righty, so....WFL?

(p.s. thanks to dizonekid for helping me put this lovely pdf online!)

Great news about HT! I couldn't open your link lachoi. I'm at home today and have no idea what I'll be lunching on yet. Probably some sort of tuna salad...stay tuned!

Unknown said...

hmmm, that's interesting that you couldn't open up the link. here it is: http://netknack.net/lachoi/
dinoofficecoloringbook.pdf

NOTE - i had to put a space between lachoi/ and dinoofficecoloringbook.pdf so that it would fit in the comment. so beware when you cut and paste!

Thanks for the update on HT. I thought about her all day yesterday and kept thinking, I wonder if she is in pre-op? I wonder if the have started cutting? I wonder if she is in post-op? I'm glad she is doing well. Morphine is an amazing thing.

I'm at home this morning, too, and will probably eat lunch here before going into the office this afternoon. I think I might make a BLT.

I ordered Watchmen this morning, Jo. I'm looking forward to it. Amazon kept recommending Dark Knight along with it, but I already have it and loved it, so I am taking that as a good sign. Besides the fact that you recommended it, as well.

i'm raiding the office supply closet for all markers, colored pencils, etc. to get ready for my lunch coloring activity. i wish we could have a contest or something to see who's colored theirs the best...kinda like you did in preschool or kindergarden.

i thought the same thoughts, jade. i'm going to visit her tonight and will send her your love. i have HT's car so if any DC WFLers wants to come with me tonight to pay a visit, you are welcome. let me know.

Awesome coloring book La Choi. I have a work thing (our ceo is doing a webcast), so we're having pizza for lunch. I'm sure it will be lukewarm by the time I get to it. And I'll get a piece of thin-crust veggie that has all olives and no other veggies and a congealed piece of pepperoni. We've done this before. Snore. I'm already falling asleep. Why didn't I make my dental appt for noon? Dammit.

Tell HT & her new chestses hola when you see her! I'll have to give her a call over the weekend. I have to wait around at some point for the carpet guy. Someday I'll move back into my own apartment. Grr.

Josephus said...

Jade you already have Dark Knight?

Are you just trying to get back on my good side?

dizkonekdid said...

Today is a workout day. So its sandwich, fruit, and red bull.
:(

Tell HT we miss her and that a morphine drip cures all.

Cheers

Back on your good side? Does this mean I have been relegated to your bad side? I'm disappointed. But yes, I have Dark Knight. I was suspicious of all comic books, but a friend pressed it onto me a couple years ago and insisted I would like it. I immediately fell into it and could not stop. It's very dark and I really resonated with how he was compelled to become Batman but reluctant at the same time. Yes, I truly am a geek.

I have to do homework now.

Since we're discussing boobies again today in honor of HT's recovery....

I'm sure this one has been seen by most...but it's always entertaining! I scored an 18 out of 20...

I've got a few more books to reccomend Jade.

Unicorn thanks for the quiz, I have taken it several times over the years and always get a different score.

I feel like ordering lunch in, but have no idea what to get. Any suggestions? If I had the car I'd head straight to So's your Mom.

Unknown said...

so's your mom is not far from you, jo. get your lazy butt outta the apartment and grab some eats!

btw, as i always enjoy pointing out, the owners of so's your mom are my peoples. they rule.

Unknown said...

so's your mom also rules because they have vernor's...did you know this jo? i hope so.

Lady A said...

I heart So's Your Mom...italian sub there is divine.

Josephus said...

Too lazy to leave...next suggestion please.

Lady A said...

Jo - get a gyro platter from Manny and Olga's. Or that pizza place, Radius, in Mt. Pleasant delivers...I think La Choi may have informed me of that...anyways...they have a pretty good calamari pizza.

Josephus said...

Merci Unicorn. Manny & Olga's it is...

The Doctor said...

I'm silly busy. Great to hear word on H-Tot. Keep it comin'.

Turkey pastrami and swiss on light rye from the GP.

Unknown said...

funny that unicorn mentions radius, b/c i ate dinner there last night. and yes, they do deliver.

the blonde dude with spikey hair from next door at tonic rides his little red vespa to your door (and sometimes allows others to ride the vespa) with yummy piping hot pizza. i love their sauce.

Unknown said...

oh, for lunch, i'm eating leftover pizza from radius: the benelli, which is sopresatta, olives, mushrooms, spinach and cheese.

it's divine.

Josephus said...

I could never get into the sliders...

my coloring plans have been foiled. have too much work today. urgh.

(For HT. Special Josephus prize to the first luncher to identify this song without cheating)

Thanks Jo. No idea what that song is, but now I have 'Super Trooper' by Abba in my head. And that song never goes away.

Josephus said...

No one else had HBO in the early 80's?

LizTurtle said...

Super Trouper beams are gonna blind me!
But I won't feel blue
Like I always do
'Cause somewhere in the crowd there's yooooooouuuuuuuuu!!!!!!!

DO you see what thou hast wrought Jo???

LizTurtle said...

We didn't have cable until 1987. And that was only b/c we were trying to rent out house out while we were overseas.

Josephus said...

Well that explains that LT...

Unknown said...

wow jo, that seems like the longest song ever. if it was on HBO in the early years,i probably saw it. any hints? was it a show? omg, if it was, it seems like a LOOOONG theme show song.

LizTurtle said...

I think I stopped reading around the 30th 'Super Snooper'.

Yes, I had a deprived childhood. I had to beg my friends to watch MTV when I came over. I've only ever seen like 3 episodes of 21 Jump Street!

Josephus said...

HT would be so disappointed...

Unknown said...

dude, i tried to cheat and look it up, but i STILL have no clue wtf that song belongs to...so sad.

you and HT have vast knowledge of useless shows and movies that i do not. i am humbled by your powers.

LizTurtle said...

I'm disappointed. I didn't know what all the fuss over Johnny Depp was until 'Edward Scissorhands'. Mmmm . . . scissorhands.

And I never got the whole Richard Greico thing. What, did his nose stop growing when he was 5??

The Doctor said...

This hasn’t happened in a while, but I could feel it stirring for the last couple of days. I tried to ignore it, but ten minutes ago it overwhelmed me. I had to take care of it. I just got back. I’m about 1/3 through the bag. Peanut m&ms. I feel great!

I never saw a single episode of 21 Jump and I didn't have cable until my first off campus apt.

Sup-p-per Troop-p-per (thanks for that).

Now I don't feel so hot.

Josephus said...

Grieco played Booker. His arrival is when the show jumped the shark. But a great show it was.

Josephus said...

Back when it was hot, Holly Robonson and Robin Givens had a very public fight over the guy who played Eric on Head of The Class.

LizTurtle said...

Wait, which one was Eric? The greaser-type of guy? God, it's been ages since I've seen that show!

Did Robin & Holly throw down? Who won? I'm betting Holly & Robin had to get with Tyson.

The Doctor said...

Eric was extraordinarily cool. He was soooo smart, but you wouldn't know it! He didn't care what people thought. AT ALL! Not even Simone.

Unknown said...

i loved holly robinson, especially in hangin' with mr. cooper.

head of the class was one of my favorite shows, but i cannot remember for the life of me anyone but robin givens, that really skinny nerdy guy, and the red-head simone. she was the red-head, right?

i'm getting old. i'm losing too many brain cells.

Josephus said...

Eric was the guy in the leather jacket. The actor who played him, Brian Robbins, is now a very succesful television producer and a semi-succesful writer/director.

LizTurtle said...

Was Simone the red-haired girl? I think I saw her in some show semi-recently & it was sad. She was playing the role of like "Coffee Shop Waitress" or "Office Worker #2".

LizTurtle said...

In case anyone doesn't have plans for lunch tomorrow, I wanted to give you a heads up on something that has been brought to my attention, thanks to my sushi calendar from my favorite favorite favorite sushi place - Sushi Taro (near DuPont Circle, for those of you who are interested - the rainbow roll is ORGASMIC). February 3rd is the Day for a Big Bite. "South-southeast - this year's lucky direction; It's said that if you face in the lucky direction on the day of Setsubun (the Bean-throwing Ceremony) and take a big bite of a sushi roll, you'll be happy all year long. With delicious sushi rolls from a sushi shop, make your stomach happy this year too." Ok, that last part was kind of a sales pitch. Point is, I will use any excuse to have sushi.

The Doctor said...

I'm pretty sure I saw Simone in an opening sequence of Law and Order recently, which I never watch but was like "Is that Simone?". She was one of the people who found the body, and I think that was it for her that episode.

I've finished the cover of my dino book!

LizTurtle said...

La Choi, you remember the teacher was the guy from WKRP, right??

Huh, I just imdb'ed the show & nobody else ever did nothing. At least as far as I can tell.

Josephus said...

The song was the theme from the movie SUPER FUZZ.

I might could do with the eating of some sushi/sashimi tomorrow.

LizTurtle said...

Super Fuzz? If that's not a porn name, I don't know what is.

The Doctor said...

My freshman year roomate LOVED wkrp, and jesus, and spaghetti with a glass of milk.

LizTurtle said...

Dipso, you may have seen Simone on, not 1, not even 2, but three separate L&Os! Once in 2002, once in 2003 & once on L&O: SVU in 2002.

Some more works from her oeuvre:
'Cyborg 3: The Recycler'
'Campus Cops: Episode 1.8'
'Batman' (ok, ok, Batman: the Animated Series)
'Shreik if you know what I did last Friday the Thirteenth' as 'Sexy Doctor'

Keep watch on 'Medium'! She's in an upcoming episode!

The Doctor said...

I'd have lunch with Simone.

Hey Jo, hows that for dark comedy?
