Wow, it's been a long time since I had a weekend like this past one. Incredible highpoints, crushing lowpoints, caught up with old friends, made some new ones, drank like a 19 year old and danced like an old man.
Suffice to say I am drained.
Is there a meal that can help me get back to normal?
WFL?

I hear ya. It was quite a weekend, wasn't it Josephus?
For me? I'm awfully well-situated, lunch wise. Today I brown bagged Saturday nights leftovers, which consists of homemade mofongitos rellenos con carne, cangrejo y pulpo, con arroz congris. (Smashed plantains fashioned into little cups which are fried, stuffed with beef, crab or octopus and then baked, with a black bean and rice sidedish.) Que rico!
And yesterday I went to this hippy garden commune thing in my neighborhood. One of my neighbors has a plot there and said that this is the weekend when they declare that anything left growing in the whole commune is fair game. So I picked about a bushel of basil, a half a dozen eggplants, and a sack full of tomatoes. I made Dipso’s famous eggplant parmesan (angel hair with fresh pesto on the side). I have to toot my own horn a little here. This stuff is killer. It’s my #1 dish. I’m set for lunches all week. Plus, it’s my company’s annual meeting this week, so I’ll be getting lunched tomorrow and Thursday.
Oh yeah, Josephus...I don't know...soup and salad.
I know the feeling Jo, believe me - I KNOW the feeling. Remember my big plans to make meatloaf yesterday? Yeah, that never happened because I stayed in Baltimore for the Ravens game, and after many cocktails, didn't get back until this morning.
I am having carrots for lunch, in a lame attempt to make up for the burgers, meatloaf, pizza and beer consumed over the weekend. (Oh, and for lunch on Saturday, I had mussels and frites and for dessert, asparagus fritters with asparagus ice cream - surprisingly tasty)
Oh, I think you want a pb&j, Jo.
Good idea. PB&J from Potbelly's. I've often wondered, but not enough to actually order it. Do they toast it? That seems like a disaster waiting to happen, but if they can pull it off...that could be a pretty tasty pbj. Get some chips, macaroni salad and a grape stewarts. Come on! Give it a go, Jo! Take one for the blog!
I had some of that endangered Chilean Sea Bass at a wedding over the weekend. Talk about awesome, no wonder the fish is endangered, its delicious!
Jo, I think you need some protein in ya after the weekend. How about a chicken breast sandwich, topped with cheddar, bacon, lettuce and tomato. THat should do it
Yes, they toast the pb&js and they are AMAZING. I might put the carrots away and go get one, though I'm broke and (I'm going to say this, b/c I don't see a time in the forseeable future where I'll ever be able to say it again) I spent all my money at the strip club this weekend.
So I should get a PB&J and a lap dance?
I'm sure that would set you right, Jo. Speaking of, did you go to Mitchell Bros. in SF?
no strip clubs in san fran for josephus. just lots of school pride, sox pride and drinking.
Maybe you thought I was going to throw a "gay pride" in there, well I didn't witness any. I did however, happily take part in a round of chardonnay shots. You really had to be there.
