Wednesday, August 10, 2005 - WFL?

WFL? (What's for Lunch?)
What're you having today?
I've got a conference call at noon so I'll be daydreaming about this the whole time.

In a rare moment of thinking ahead, I ordered Tangy Hunan Wonton with my Chicken Chow Fun last night. My (ingenious) plan was to have the Chicken Chow Fun for dinner and bring the THW to work today.

My issue now becomes, When to Eat? When I have the foresight to bring something from home, I extricate myself from the issue of the crowded/lines/busy variable. Normally, this is a major factor in deciding when to eat, but on days like today I struggle.
Does anyone else have this problem?

CSR, I think we'll have to post a whole topic on Subway one day. I have a real hard time with the place. But that's for another conversation. I am thinking about hitting a place across the street. They have a turkey club with bacon, ham, avocado, lto and honey mustard on a soft sub roll. I usually add sweet peppers and mayo.

I went to subway last week, ordered the cold cut trio. Got back to my office and discovered that what I received was a Jalenpeno Pepper sandwich, with 1 peice of bologna.

p.s. if you ever go to subway with CSR make sure you pay in cash and not with a debit card. he gets pissed and bitches you out for taking so long.

Waded through crowds of zombies... er, Times Square tourists to get to the Food Emporium for some "turkey off the bone" (as they call it -- they weren't any bones, though) on whole wheat, with some swiss, lettuce and tomato, and a little mayo. I may go against the grain on this one, but I prefer only just enough mayo to moisten the whole sandwich-eating experience -- any more is too much. It's not like mustard, which I could spray on and on, as long as it goes with the meat. Not a fan of mustard on turkey, though. Too overpowering, I think.

I made a lunch miscalculation. I think I ate too early.

The appetizer size Tangy Hunan Wonton wasn't quite filling enough, and by going ahead and eating at 12:30, I'm now still kinda' hungry at 3. I'm doing my best to abate this with copious amounts of Diet Coke, which I'm hoping will do the trick for the rest of the afternoon.

Rawker, Your "off the bone" turkey sandwich describes my eating habits every week after Thanksgiving. I prepare my sandwich almost the same way but I am much more liberal with the mayo. I see your point about too much being too much, I just don't agree. In fact with post holiday turkey the mayo seems to bring out the flavor of the meat, (especially the dark meat when it's been reheated). I'll share my ultimate post holiday sandwich with you all on another day.
