16 servings of cheap pilsner last night? Attracted to a 6” seafood sandwich you saw being ordered and need someone to talk to? Feel like something pasta-y, but not exactly? This is what terrorizes our nation’s workers every day. It is ever-present, in the back of our minds--riding on the train, up the elevator, in that meeting. But these are simply facets of the one great question. The answer to which must be provided before we can ever grasp contentment. What’s for lunch?

You need french fries, Josephus. You might need to go with good, old fashioned McDonalds. Considering your locale, and your condition - that is my recommendation.
It's raining here and I'm at home. No food in the house. And I'm still craving Chipotle - which is nowhere near here. I might make do at the Salvadoran place. I need to think about it.
Alternatively, I'm going to fall asleep on my couch.
I know this is off blog topic, but is the "shot and a beer" a midwest thing, a blue collar thing, or just a drinker thing?
I think blue collar? I assume you drank it submerged in the beer, which is called a Boilermaker where I come from.
csr - I have to say burger. Now, I'm truly a rib-girl - but pork + hangover didn't work out so well for me over this last weekend. (granted it was pulled pork at Camden Yards, but I suspect the same would've happened w/ ribs)
Burgers + Hangovers are just meant to be.
Shot and a beer? I have no idea what you're talking about. I would never find myself in such a situation, that's for sure.
I was leaving for lunch yesterday and my co-worker said "It stopped raining." She lied. I was on my way for sweet and sour chicken and shrimp fried rice, which I've been craving for days, but the 65 Chinese is about four blocks away. With no protection from the elements, I was forced into the Baja fresh next door. Now, I can do Baja happily from time to time. But when you're obsessed with chinese and all of sudden you have a burrito in your hand...it was a real let down. I choked it down and was miserable. It's sunny today, and the chinese craving remains...nothing can stop me know...except maybe the Blue Angels.
Josephus, I'd recommend heading to the northeast end of terminal 1-A (I think -- it could be 1-B) for a corned beef sandwich, fried potatos and a root beer at the Berghoff. Maybe add a hard-boiled egg.
I finally got the Chipotle steak fajita burrito I've been craving for a week.
Of course, I'm just now - at 5:30 - getting around to finishing my "lunch". Which, I guess works out, since word on the street is that I have a late night ahead of me.
I hope everyone has a lunch-irific weekend. Tomorrow I'll be having my first tailgate/lunch of the season in the parking lot of M & T Bank Stadium in preparation for tomorrow night's Eagles/Ravens game.
Until Monday, I bid you happy lunching.
