Good thing I had two lunches yesterday because I was at the office until 9:30 (I almost missed Laguna Beach!) - so no dinner! And today, I think it's going to be the blackberries that I managed to remember this morning and little else until I get home tonight, assuming that happens at a reasonable hour.
I HATE being busy. Of course, maybe if I weren't throwing a big swanky fundraising dinner honoring the ethics of a company that just got slapped with a $263M judgment and the man who helmed it, I wouldn't be so swamped.
Anyway, make me jealous: What's For Lunch, Y'all?

Whatever I end up having for lunch, I'll have to bring it back to my office because I'm just too busy to lose an hour today. So I'll limit myself to a three block radius, and I'll keep to one of my "standards." I think today calls for an ol' #2 -- Chipotle Chicken Burrito Bowl (black beans, pico, medium, corn, sour, cheese and extra lettuce). My #1 standard is a trip to the salad bar at the Gourmet Pantry right across the street. Romaine, spinach, red onions, one cherry tomato, black olives, hard boiled egg (whites only), beets (adjacent to egg white -- real nice effect there), sunflower seeds, blue cheese crumbles and balsamic vinagrette. I've been known to toss in some califlower if it looks fresh.
Update: blackberries with soy milk was surprisingly filling. I also had a couple handfuls of "Homestyle" popcorn, which I also enjoyed.
dipso, that salad sounds divine. We have a dearth of decent salad bars near my office. There's a scary one across the street, but I'm just not going to risk it.
I'm also on my eighth Diet Coke, for whatever that might be worth.
I too once fell under the spell of Subway. It was 1979. I was traveling to Marshall Fields in search of a Mongolian horse-head vest and avacado tuna maki. I had got to the counter after sundown. All of the sushi artists had gone. But a different sort of artist still lurked about. Just a taste he said. That was all it took.
Sometimes Subway must be done, CSR. Sometimes it must be done seven or eight work days in a row.
Do they have the 6" daily specials out there? $2.49. It gets a little frightening. I always wonder how much of what I pay ends up in the GOP's coffers.
I haven't eaten at Subway since 2003. It's not someplace that ever occurs to me, and I'm usually disappointed in my choices. And really, Quizno's is SO much better.
