I'd like to thank Watchdog and the crew at Newton St, for putting up a mighty kick off to the the unofficial summer season with the BBBQ they put up on Saturday.
There were hot dogs
and bacon rap Shrimp
And much more
Now that it's summer BBBQ season, What's your thing? DO you Thrive on the basics like burgers and dogs, or are you more of a grilling master, preferring the ribs and briskits and maybe even a grilled sweet potato pie?
What's for lunch when it's grill time?

I know that there are like 74 ways to cook a hot dog. I am not ashamed to admit (though I can see how one would assume that I would be, but I know no shame) that my favorite way to prepare hot dogs in in the microwave. That does it for me.
Also, I'd like to throw out the BBQ controversy to see what y'all think.
The hardcore insist that Barbecue is by tradition, low (temp) and slow (time, I guess). They refuse to call hot dogs and burgers on the grill. Apparently that is just a cook out. Where do you fall on that?
That ought to read
"they refuse to call dogs and burgers on the grill BBQ"
Newton House bbq and porch/roof sitting was indeed an excellent kick off to summer bbq season!
Yesterday I went to a bbq that included Guinness marinated lamb which was also excellent.
But my favorite on-the-grill food has to be beer can chicken. In fact, I believe my neighbors are grilling one or two of those today!
Thanks Newton for hosting another fab BBQ! And watchdog for being the mastagrilla! BBQ part deux on my end on Sunday included a crap load of steamed crabs!! I love crabs. Crabs are yummy. crabs! And you know what's better than smoked meat? THREE kinds of smoked meat. Yum.
Newton House was indeed fun, as it normally is. And the roof was a fun surprise (for me)!
I hit 1 bbq yesterday and 2 today. I did pretty well on the bbq front this weekend! I hit the chicken, the burgers, the hot dogs, AND the ribs! Sa-weeeeeet.
Holla to Sunshine for dezombiefying our little OWFL!
I see that our time away from the OWFL has gotten relaxed on the annomity clause.
Who is this Sunshine of which you speak? Sounds like an Adonis with a sprinkle of Einstein.
Happy to host the killa kickoff BBQ. And I don't care what purists say, if its grillin, its BBQ'in. I only get hardcore in my insistence to use charcoal over gas. Gas is convenient and all, but it ain't got nuthin on charcoal.
I'm a little BBQ'd out, pretty much was involved in 4 BBQ's over 3 days.
And speaking of anonimity, how do I make that happen, I clearly inputted my display name as something more blogtastic and familiar.
