Repercussions

Sorry for the delayed post! Mr. E-que sends his regards, and please look forward to one of his typical eloquent posts in the near future.

Ok, so y'all should know the drill by now. It's the day after another eating fest day...so spill the beans and discuss what sporty delectables you indulged in yesterday. What are your favorite at-home game time eats? Do you make the pot of chili with all the fixins...or depend on your local pizza delivery to get it to you in 30 minutes or less?

And of course....WFL????

It is so cold outside that I am not even going to the temp agency to drop off my second to last time sheet.

Second to last because I got's me a jobby job. I'm total psyched.

That means that I won't have to armchair organize the OWFL Music conference. I can total go. Beach week too. Man this having a job is awesome.

At any rate, Wings were the main course for superb bowling last night. Tea Bags went to Trader Joe's and got some froze wings, and they were delectible.

Also on tap was the censored Ale (formerly know as the chronic ale), Doritos, wasabi peas, gummy colas, home made dip with ruffles, Nathan's hot dogs, and a party platter with all sorts of meats and cheeses.

Lunch today will involve not going out into the arctic air.

What do you have for me today ol Brookings Cafe?

we had chili with all the fixins, ribs, and assorted other goodies. Of course I forgot to bring any leftovers for lunch today.

I feel like having a good chicken salad sandwich. Anyone know a good place to find that in downtown DC?

Indeeds some good eats at chateau czar last night. THough the chili caused some large bass line action last night that Mrs. WD wasn't too happy about.

I picked up some Popeyes chicken to bring to the super bowl watching, and was surprised that it was not devoured.

But I got to take the remains home so that means some very unhealthy eating coming up at the WD house this week

some of the schools in this area today are closed or delayed because it is "too cold." It was between 5-15 degrees in this area... what is wrong with these people? I'm not saying it isn't cold, it is. But cancelling school? It's not like we're in the deep south.

I spent the day with my parents and mau getting progressivly fatter. The highlights of the day were buffalo wings, sevenlayer dip, mozzsticks and mozzsticks with the sevenlayer dip.. There was also some consuption of Carolina Pulled Pork and Bourbon.

But just a bit.

First Half Props:

Congrats to the Jo/Mrs. Jo household on yet another deliciously well hosted gathering. Chili was delish, as were the ribs. I'll admit, I was happy to see that Mrs. Jo and SisterHelio's punch did not make an encore appearance from New Year's Eve Eve.

Second Half Props:

Congrats to Lady and Lord A on hosting another delicious fried fest. Broccoli bites, wings and tater tots capped off the evening. I can't believe I forgot my wings to take home, which will necessitate swinging back past the A-Household to take some bird parts of their hands.

For lunch today, I'm still digesting breakfast, which was at the Royal in Old Town for a meeting. Two poached eggs on wheat toast, side of sausage.

Chicken noodle soup and Chicken Thai Pizza. Both are ok.

Jo, Probably too late, and probably too far to go for you, especially today (m we had a local school closed today too, but that's because their heater broke).

But Jo, the Brookings Cafe makes a mean Chix salad and an even meaner Tuna salad.

I also joined in the festivities at the Kremlin (pre-1703) last night. Mad props to the Czar (and Czarina, although I never clearly defined whose hand was in what) for the chili, which I ate like a man who cannot breathe outside of chili, and the ribs. They laid in a nice foundation for my subsequent Focus on the Fermented Hops rally during the second half.

I woke up on a strange suburban couch this morning and got to work at 615AM. How's that for a Super Bowl Sunday?

I had Mickey D's for lunch today. Did you know they have cherry pies? 2 for a dollar? They aren't as good as the old drop-em-in-the-fryer-and-flash-fry-your-taste-buds-off pies, but they aren't bad. The way I have chosen to describe my attitude toward them is this: I will never say, "Hey, we need to go to McDonald's right now so I can get a cherry pie," but I may well say, "And, while I'm at it, give me one of those cherry pies."

Oh, and I like homestyle game fixin's (like we enjoyed at the Kremlin) over shitty delivered pizza (which was the game plan at my second-half location) every time.

helio I will have to make a trip to the Brookings Cafe at some point.
Today I braved the cold and went to Best Sandwich Place for my stand-by the ham & chicken club with sweet peppers.

And thanks to everyone who came by the royal residence last night.
I won't have to buy beer for at least a month.

And a loud "et tu brute" to Lady and Lord A for organizing a competing superbowl event and actively recruiting guest from our place (Lord A is not slick). Bad form Uni, bad form...

I believe the Czar Domicile Registry will show Lord A arrived at said castle at 5:20pm on Sunday.

hmmmm....

Oh czar, don't be such a cry baby. My frying intentions have been in place since last year's fryganza (which I had talked to you about way before you opted to have an open house). And not to mention I did not steal or technically even invite anyone over..the only person I actually spoke to was HT.

Earthquake said...

Which reminds me, Lady A, thanks for all the trying to steal me!

I suppose I'm not good enough for the stealing.

Josephus said...

Lord A made an obvious attempt at guest poaching!
BOOOO!

BTW everyone make sure to request April 5th off from work now in preparations for the Czar's birthday bash...

HaterTot said...

Quake, did we not have a text conversation where I asked you what you wanted and you said something about the entire Long John Silver's menu?

Josephus said...

Wow, a blatant anonymity violation from Lady A just adds salt to the wound.

had taco salad made from leftovers for lunch, it was delish!

m said...

10 gyozo and 1/4 lbs of retirement cake.

Earthquake said...

ht: we did. Mostly because I think their Veggie Bites are delish. (There will always be a hard place in my arteries for the Crab Coins.) However, I hardly consider that evidence of being targeted as a guest theft. That's kind of some diplomatic back-channel shit, which I suppose makes you the Canadian embassy.

HaterTot said...

Wow, I've been called a lot of things in my time, but Canadian has never among them... I'm shocked and appalled.
