EAT YOUR VEGTABLES!!!

miso's lunch today is 1/2 a grilled veggie panini with some cheeses and garlic mayo...it is also 1/2 of a chicken salad sammy with craisins and celery because i started sneaking around and switching half of my sammy with "theboss"-es for shits and giggles last week and now he likes sharing lunch. i don't know if i can go back to eating just one kind of sammy for lunch again, this variety thing KICKS ASS!!!

we may have already covered this topic, but do you share your lunch?? do you enjoy mixing it up a little? who do yuo share your lunch with? do they have to fill out an application for lunch sharing? are there any requirements?

what would you be sharing for lunch today??

funny you should mention veggies, miso...im eating a veggie pasta salad i made last night in an attempt to save money and be healthy. however, i just doused it all with a ton of feta cheese....not so healthy after all, i guess.

i also made a version of your rockin' tuna and brought that too...dash of adobo and olives really give it that umph!

HA! This topic has totally been covered before.

Booyah!

Staying up too late again are we? [eyebrow popping up look]

So, today will either be the blazing heat of Houston and a packed lunch OR I am looking at getting a free lunch from whereever with the boss and the bosses boss. Keep your fingers crossed for the free lunch people!

AND I'M NOT SHARING!

;)

By the way...shout out to E-que for having a birthday yesterday and Shorty for organizing a get together for the birthday! Good times, Good times!

I may have had 3 or 4 too many of the $5 martinis.

We must go back to that place.

Lady A said...

I definitely had 4 more than I intended to, not to mention the $3-$4 apps that I had 3-4 too many of as well. That is why I will have either a salad or veggie sub for lunch.

i had another one of those "italian panini's" that i have yet to figure out what is italian or panini like... rather sad really. i want good mexican food. does anyone know of a good mexican place in north new jersey?

also, i miss sharing food. i'll only do it with someone that i know very well though, as i know the percentage of americans who wash their hands after returning from the lavatory...

I just picked up a "trio of salads" from Vie de France. curry chicken, crab mango and tuna potato. I've got a bad feeling about my afternoon bm.

Friday's fine for a share lunch.

Cool and rainy here in chicago, which means that I'll be hitting my nearest lunch option today. Little lunch trivia -- who's been paying attention? Where will I be going?

can I play?

HT update, she's in the midst of funeral planning and as expected lunching is not her top priority.

Today she had "a spare chik fil a left out all night".

Our hearts go out to her.

btw, did those OWFLers that didn't come to chicago get their cookbooks?

Lunch today was leftover cilantro slaw with leftover chicken salad - I think that's the last day for both of those items. Getting a little bit ripe . . . oh I threw a tomato in there courtesy of co-worker's garden. I am also snacking on a huge thing of hummus I made last night b/c I got home & was craving it. It's pretty good. I think it needs more garlic and/or lemon juice and/or olive oil. It's just not quite there yet . . . . When I go home it will be fixed. I would share with certain people. But Kiki, if you got the same thing, what's the point of setting up a shared lunch?? I would totally change my order . . . . Anyways. It seems to me that most people in the office who want "just a taste" of this or "just a bite" of that are the people who eat crap like Lean Cuisine or some boring-ass sandwich like Wonder bread with bologna & american cheese and nothing else on it. I just can't support that.

Uh, dipso . . . Gold Coast? was I right? Do I win another pair of panties??

Gourmet Pantry?

and LT did your hummus need more chick peas cuz I think that's the onle ingredient you didn't mention...

Josephus said...

onlY!

LizTurtle said...

chickpeas? what?

LizTurtle said...

Just kidding. I also didn't mention tahini - and no, plenty o' chick peas (and tahini) - gigantic cans were on sale so I used just one of those & it filled up a whole Gladware soup n' salad size.

Baja Fresh is my closest lunch destination. Come on, I must have mentioned that at least once in the last 13 months.

And I HATE baja fresh. I had the chicken ultimo, enchilada style. It was terrible, but I think it was good as they can do it. Chipotle, owners notwithstanding, kicks baja's ass big time.

LizTurtle said...

Oh, see I read that as favorite lunch destination. Which means I'm probably still wrong.

Had (well, having) the buffalo chicken salad from the fake kosher deli across the street for lunch today. It's the buffalo-sauce-chicken-finger-on-a-house-salad kind. It's okay. This is my second experience with that joint, and I'm not sold, but I'm not sworn off yet either.

I'm not opposed to the idea of sharing lunch, but I would have to be pretty selective. I'm with lizturtle on seeing the pitfalls of some lunchshare partners, although I kind of like the bologna-American-on-WonderBread. I could knock down one of those after this buffalo chicken salad.

Someone wrote something kinda illegible but vaguely rude and threatening in my cookbook. I don't know who it was.

Earthquake said...

Jada: Not me. My handwriting is beautiful.

Earthquake said...

Okay, I'm slightly upgrading the joint across the street. The chicken was higher quality than I expected, and the buffalo sauce has my nose running. Well played, Chutzpah Deli. Well played.

Now, I am going to close my lunch out with my free brownie from last night's lethargic stop at California Tortilla on the way home from a long day at the office.

Then, I shall handwrite something and marvel at my penmanship and its beauty.

kiki, Brian and I are on the same page. I frown at ordering the same thing ALL the time. I may have mentioned this before, but if you are going to spend money out you might as well taste as many of the goods as possible.

Re: cookbooks, I would never defile uni/lady amalfia's piece of artwork with nasty comments. By the way has anyone seen a book with my name in it? I should probably ask the missus if she packed it.

And on a third note for DC folks, A Tribe Called Quest will be performing in DC next Friday on the 22nd at a joint called Love. Tickets are still on sale and only $20. HT and the bun...excuse me, HT and a friend have expressed serious interest, I will be seeing Tribe in Chicago THIS friday but if enough DCers are interested I will join the party. So whatcha think?

Lost cookbooks, vandalized cookbooks...do you all know how long these two hands were working on that horsecock!!!!

Josephus said...

miso what are you showing to your apartment?

the owfl cookbook?

dizkonekdid said...

Where is my cook book.

Herr Jo, I haff posted in der vunderPost.

Bad Mexican today folks .. free .. but bad.

LizTurtle said...

Miu, I knew exactly what you meant.

Kiki - do you make a point to order 2nd when you go out to eat just to make Brian sweat & see if you'll order the same thing as him? Fun with food!

Lunch sighting: My lender guy just called me & said that he has some stuff for me to sign & then said he'd be in my area tomorrow for a birthday thing with his friends, "this bunch of guys, we have this lunch thing." I almost felt like we had exchanged secret handshakes!! Except he wasn't talking about blogging, I think he was just talking about having lunch together.

LizTurtle said...

Linking to this just because it has 'lunch' in the title - sounds pretty good, too! Oink.

LizTurtle said...

Yup, Diz, that's Maryland for you!

Josephus said...

diz added some good info on the blog business post...

LizTurtle said...

Ha ha! Yeah, I (and my mom) did a lot of decluttering & cleaning. It helped that my mom is a big fan of those decluttering & house-selling shows on HGTV. Also I sent my cat to my mom's place b/c I didn't want to risk an allergic reaction to the one person who might be willing to actually live in a basement. However, a rental not being as big a commitment, if he doesn't like how you or your aparment look, fuck him. I mean, not literally. Figuratively. Unless you think that would help sell the sub-let. KIDDING, Peep!

Josephus said...

And this is just awful.

LizTurtle said...

Good lord, nice friend.

Josephus said...

LT I think that "friend" is the kid's mom.

Josephus said...

broken leg, golden egg...one of these days they'll get it right kiki.

LizTurtle said...

That's even worse then! Man, it's one thing to laugh at your friend, but your own son?!? (son, right? that was pretty crappy resolution.) That being said, I'm an asshole & laughed at the video, too.

LizTurtle said...

Sweeeeeeeeeet. And the cat?
