It's 10:44 a.m. do you know where your lunchers are?
WFL?
Perhaps if I mention the mini-OWFL Conference in Chicago this weekend it will get people talking?
16 servings of cheap pilsner last night? Attracted to a 6” seafood sandwich you saw being ordered and need someone to talk to? Feel like something pasta-y, but not exactly? This is what terrorizes our nation’s workers every day. It is ever-present, in the back of our minds--riding on the train, up the elevator, in that meeting. But these are simply facets of the one great question. The answer to which must be provided before we can ever grasp contentment. What’s for lunch?

Good morning!
There was a mini disaster on the red line this morning. After waiting 15 minutes at my stop a train finally arrived, but instead of letting people board they dumped the entire passenger load off at the station due to "equipment failure." 15 more minutes of waiting and a train arrived that was so packed no one got on. 10 more minutes, a train arrived but we were told it would be running express to Chicago Ave, which is like 5 stops beyond mine. Finally I got on a train, but it would be running express from Belmont to Clark/Division, so I had to get off at Belmont and transfer to a purple line in order to get to Fullerton. I was late for class.
Mini Chicago conference! YAY! I am so excited. Are we going to Hot Dougs? Drinking at the Old Town Ale House? What is on the agenda? All I know, is that HT and I are going to be shopping for bras at some point. I figure the boys will want to bow out of that one. It is also the Big 10 tournament this weekend, but considering our dismal ending to the season, the tourney could be a non event for me. Whatever, let's get drunk. Hangover curing brunch with bloodies at my place Sunday morning? Er, afternoon?
The blog is so quiet. That is so sad.
Sorry, everyone. I just got reamed by the boss for "...going outside my job scope."
Today is a running day. I have so much stress I am about to blow a fuse. I am jealous about the mini-meet and even moreso that I had to cancel the plans for our trip to Chi-town for April. Looks like Ro and I will be getting up there in June. Maybe we'll actually get to catch a ball game.
Regardless, I'm still clueless about La Choi's disappearance. Even the other blog went missing.
All in all, a pretty shitty day ... not eating lunch and all.
I'm broke this week. So all my money will of course go to lunch. I realllly want a BBQ chicken salad. Any idea where I can find one in DC? I'm thinking High Noon.
Shamrock Shakes! Oh my, I haven't had one in years and years. I want one now, too.
Jo, you better scrape together some money so we can live large this weekend.
Someone out there in cubicle land is eating it. I can smell it. And why the fuck is it so often referred to as a “tuna fish”? No one says “chicken bird.”
Okay, putting my nose back to the hate stone.
Looking forward to the weekend and showing off how good I've gotten at getting drunk.
Where is the Sopranos/L Word watching party?
I need to get my cable situation straightened out, as it is no Sopranos/L Word at my house. I want to go back to Honey 1. I want the weekend to be here now.
Honey 1 was WAY too bright. That's not an eat in place.
Early drunk on Saturday sounds good. 10 p.m. pass out. First tourney game that day could COULD be UM v MSU. But the Gin Mill?! Who wants to sit in a room full of mouth breath?
I liked Honey 1, I don't think it was too bright to eat in, and I don't like to take out. You're picky.
Technically it is possible for MSU and U of M to be playing on Saturday, yes. But, it won't be happening for a variety of reasons that I won't go into. You can talk trash about the Gin Mill and MSU fans [but you are way out numbered here as a warning] or you can go watch the game at Duffy's with the ugly people. Your choice.
I've heard that "Doug" of "Hot Doug's" fame, will be on vacation this weekend, therefore, sadly, there can be no trip to the sausage emporium.
encased meats! i want some...too bad i cannot join everyone. but the conference will be just around the corner.
i just made one of the best dinners in a long time. boneless pork chop seasoned simply with garlic, salt, and fresh ground black pepper, side salad with balsamic vinegar, baked potato (lots of salt, pepper, and butter), and haricot verts sauteed with more garlic, lemon, and olive oil. and of course, i've chased this fantabulous meal with a fine bottle of fitou. tre magnifique!
i also made a vat of tzasziki over the weekend with real fage and dill. (not mint...i like dill better) i haven't made homemade hummus yet. that will be my next adventure.
miss you guys!
Giggles - I make excellent hummus. If only I weren't so lazy. I can give you my recipe if you'd like. (I prefer my hummus leaps and bounds over the grocery store crap, but again with the lazy)
I'm currently roasting a game hen, rubbed with mint and greek seasonings, stuffed with feta, ricotta and walnuts. Can't decide what to have on the side. Maybe salad, maybe more brussels sprouts.
I'm watching "Beautiful People" on ABC Family. Daphne Zuniga and Grant Show play the estranged parents of the two girls. So, Jo and Jake are reunited!!
i just watched the 2 back to back episodes of 24....can it get any more intense???????
I've tried to watch 24 so many times. I just can't do it. I want to like it, but I just don't.
I much prefer crappy abc family shows with ex-Melrose Place stars.
