"Hey 19, no we've got nothing common. No we can't talk at all..."

That's Josephus at 30 talking to Josephus at 19. And Josephus at 30 (me) is fucking serious. Stay away from me you asshole. That young bastards' antics over about 14 hours on Saturday turned into THIRTY straight hours on the couch from early Sunday morning till Monday.
We cannot hang out anymore. I mean it. And don't try to bring your other 19 year old friends "CSR at 19" and "Rico at 19" around. I have it on good authority that their 30 year old versions have sworn you and them off as well. So get the fuck on.

A few notes on Key West:

1) It's pretty Gay, but not as Gay as I had been led to believe
2) Uncle Bob does well for himself.
3) It's hard to sightsee from the couch.

If I can keep my eyes open long enough I will be having soup for lunch.

WFL?

I actually am not hungover, (maybe the 30 some hours on the couch helped with that) I am however extremely sleep deprived because while on the couch in Key West I couldn't string more than 30 minutes of good sleep together at anytime. So last night I got home and stayed up till 5:00 catching up on DVR'd television programs.

any lunch advice for that?

if you are still hungover, i'd say stay away from creamy soups. something more broth centered, like chix noodle or minestrone.

i will be eating out today. i want something healthy of course, since i boozed it up in the mountains of west virginia this past weekend. it's back to yoga and cardio for me.

I have two small slices of leftover four cheese Frontera frozen pizza. That’s about ½ of a 8” pie. Might not cut it.

My hangover advice, don't feel the least amount of guilt if you don't accomplish anything for the next day or two. Hey, it's not your fault. It's not your fault. It's not your fault. It's not your fault. It's not your fault.

Hm. I think I need a salad. I had a softball-sized bagel with garlic & herb cream cheese (yummmmm) for breakfast & actually am not hungry at all at the moment. Plus I ate so much last week at Restaurant Week. Yummmm. Poor Jo. I feel for you, man. I can't handle big nights/days/weeks of drinking anymore either. At this weekend-long wedding I went to in December, I spent most of the time nursing either an out-right hangover or nursing that just off-feeling thing, where you're not really hungover, but Advil, vomiting, napping, eating, hair-o-dog, nothing will get rid of it. Ugh. Yeah, I think I'll get a California Cobb from Listrani's, which must be the worst name for a restaurant ever. It always makes me think of listeria. Also, that is the biggest non-salad salad ever. Bacon, blue cheese, and avocado. Mmmmmm . . . .

Blogger is on crack today...

It's 10:50 a.m. and my pizza's all gone.

grease grease and more grease to cure hangovers OR the light broth soup/green tea formula is good depending on which makes you feel better. i'm a grease woman, myself.

for sleep deprivation, all i can say is caffeine. if you don't drink coffee, then tea. if you don't drink coffee or tea, then chocolate covered espresso beans. if you don't do chocolate, then you are lame.

all the good food, hot tub, and boozing that i did this weekend gave me a zit. i'm sad la choi today.

I haven't had a drop of booze since New Year's Day. Nor caffeine.

This weekend, I read the Atlantic, watched a lot of news and a lot of movies.

I made turkey chili and fat free/sugar free jello, as well as fat free/sugar free banana creme pudding. Today for lunch I think I'm going to have some broccoli and hummus, perhaps some fat free cottage cheese and of course, jello.

So, I don't have any hangover stories to share.

Oh, despite all that - great song, Jo. One of my faves.

I can entertain. After the Rocket's game wednesday night we (me and the guys from work) went to one of Houston's more classy establishments. Yes I'm talking about a "full nude bar" where you have to bring your own alcohol. $20 at the door. So, we get to drinking gin and tonic (bad choice that stuff is the Devil's work ... hehe I'm jewish so I just made a funny). Well there was one zealous pealer who came up to us and grabbed me bythe throat and led me over to the floor. She proceeded to lay back on the platform and wrap her legs around my waist. She pulled me in with her legs and thrusted her hips and started screaming "IS THAT ALL YOU'VE GOT MUTHAFUCKA?"

So I keep getting asked that in the halls at work.

By everyone.

So,

dizkonekdid said...

Oh yeah, it isn't all I've got, my lunch is turkey sand with red bull again.

Unknown said...

james, your evening sounded a bit scandalous. all i have to say is...

IS THAT ALL YOU HAVE MUTHAFUCKA!?!?!

byob at a full nude bar? now THAT sounds like the devil's work. i wonder how many fights break out on a nightly basis. dear lord.

i think it's a breadline salad today, especially if they've got the curried chix salad. i haven't had it in a while, and it sure hits the spot.

"I wish we had some good stories for you guys but we were pretty tame"

LIARS! Spill it, boys...

Okay here are some quotes and other highlights of the weekend. I think you'll see that it actually was pretty lame.

"Hey man, you got any menthols? "
"This is my town."
"Let me get this straight: You can walk down the street with a Beer
but you can't say the word 'cunt' ? "
"I love this Bar."
"Rectagon"
"'You know, Hor's d'oeurves' 'Do you mean souvenirs?'"

-There may or may have not been a urination in the hotel room.
-The "Running Man"
-An Indian chick, or maybe she was Korean.
-Jello shots
-A future career for..."The Gym Teacher"
-Dance tokens
-"DEEEEEETROIT"
-lots of karaoke
-"BAAAASKETBAAAAL!!!"
-3 almost altercations
-negs galore

Josephus said...

We heard the song "I Love this bar" maybe 400 times. Yet, strangely, no Jimmy Buffett.

Jada said...

Rectagon?

I just ate a mango. I need to get dressed and go to the office for awhile.

Josephus said...

Called in my order to Cap Grounds today. Cheese hoagie, everything, heavy mayo. Picked it up and came back to the office....HEAVY MUSTARD.

Unknown said...

yeah karaoke!!! did you guys sing 'blaze of glory' by bon jovi? i find that it's a good group song for when you're drunk.

may change mind and go abp...haven't really done it for a while, so why not? i like the soup variety. if they have cram chowdah, i'm doing it.

Josephus said...

I saw the bacon and avocado...

The Doctor said...

no sympathy, jo. you should have learned to check your sandwiches from CG after the missing bacon incident

I had such a good salad for lunch. And I was "good" & didn't get the California Cobb. Instead I got the Mediterranean Grilled Chicken Salad, which has, and I quote: "Chunks of seasoned grilled chicken, field greens, kalamata olives, feta cheese, capers and grilled eggplant tossed in our balsamic basil vinaigrette, topped with pumpkin seeds." Hm, I always thought those were sunflower seeds. I think they listed the wrong seed. And it came with a choco chip cookie (c is for cookie, that's good enough for me) & a square of focaccia. Yum. So yummy. Ooooh, I forgot I can have a snack later today! Have to go get a hot pita from Attila's, so's I can eat the rest of my tub of hummus. Yum. Snarf. Ugh, I don't want to be at work today. I want to be picking out paint colors for my soon-to-be newly-wallboarded bedroom. Siiiiigh. And I can get into this stuff that I really need to finish before it's too late . . . . argh.

Jo, did you see Dominick and His Amazing Cats while in Key West? The cats walk on tight ropes and jump through flaming hoops and such. Which based on every other cat i've known is pretty fucking amazing, or rather Dominick is pretty fucking amazing for getting cats to do such things. There are even a bunch of stray cat "groupies" that aren't in the show, but just hang around, maybe hoping for a chance to perform. I'm also amazed that I gave that whole review without making some good puns with the word "pussy".

anyhoo, the cafeteria had blackened salmon with potatoes and vegetables. actually quite good, but i've been burping a lot and re-experiencing the lunch time and time again.

Unknown said...

eating the chowdah...sometimes it's too creamy and makes me sort of want to take a nap. i have a side garden salad that i'm hoping will cancel some of this heaviness out.

dude, CG sounds incompetent. how could they constantly be screwing up your orders? when you go to the actual place, can you watch them make your sandwiches? perhaps you should fax them the exact order so that you have a record...i don't know. sounds so annoying!

LT -- i never went to taberna, btw. i was too late and it was filled up. oh well, next time i hope to be more proactive and book weeks in advance like other people.

Josephus said...

I'm through with CG...for awhile.

Watchdog I saw no amazing cats, but I already mentioned the dance tokens right?

I got a bean burrito from a vendor at the corner of 17 and K.

It's actually pretty damn good.

Unknown said...

josephus, does that mean you actually threw away the entire sandwich due to the heavy mustard? or is it that you just had a second lunch. you know how much i advocate second lunches. good job if you did.

Josephus said...

I picked at the mustard infested aberration for a bit and then got the second lunch.

HaterTot said...

No Buffett??? How the hell is that possible?

Josephus said...

It was all Uncle Bobby and "gymteacher" and they were having none of Buffett. "Friends in Low Places" made several appearances. and I'm happy to say that Tenacious D's "F her gently" made a karaoke appearance. I just wish I had thought of it.

Jack Black does rock, but you just don't want the mental pic of him doing anything remotely similar to sex.

Much less the actual act.

LizTurtle said...

Don't make me link to that Jack Black picture again!
