Drunken Holiday Musings

It occurred to me earlier, upon finally sorting out the internet issues here at home, that many of us may in fact be online and happening upon The Original What's For Lunch. My suspicions were confirmed when I happened upon Ms. Jade's comment on yesterday's lunch post. I myself spent the day doing the holiday shopping (all of it - first time in a shopping place since October!), drinking, and watching football with my dad. Grandma and her boyfriend just left, and their visit compelled me to polish off the magnum of wine I started earlier in the day.

So, my friends. Use this post to share your holiday thoughts, if you happen to be stopping by over the holidays. (One good thing about today: Laguna Beach marathon. Right On.)

I hope everyone is having a joyous, or at least drunken celebration.

With much love and wine,
Ethics

I drank way too much wine last night. Coco got loopy on champagne. Ace was up all night with a wicked cough and made me rub his feet because that was apparently the only thing making him feel better. He miraculously recovered in time to unwrap presents and act like a maniac with his cousin and seems to be fine now.

Merry Christmas, Lunchers!

My family is now watching a conspiracy theory DVD on 9/11. Is this for real? Is it too early to begin drinking?

I accidentally took a sleeping pill this morning instead of my thyroid medicine. I just woke up, and am still groggy. Apparently my grandmother and her boyfriend were here again in the interim, and so were some other people. Dad told everyone I wasn't feeling well. He was amused.

Now we're watching the Fast and the Furious. I smell a new holiday tradition.

Heading over to the Rico Tubbs' Family X-mas in an hour or so.

Watching Nip/Tuck season 1 with my sister.

Still so tired. Could barely keep my eyes open to eat dinner. Watching football now, but not likely for long, since I still think I could sleep another 4-5 hours. Stupid pills.

Im so freakin' bored!!!

Nothing was for lunch today, the weather here is shitty, and I didn't feel like going out, and there was no food in the house. Which, presents an interesting dilemma for dinner.

Tomorrow will be spent xmas shopping for the people I'm supposed to see on Thursday - the whole reason why I'm still here. I'm thinking Primanti's is on the agenda as well.

I'm back in Chicago, and sad about it. I was not ready for the weekend to be over and could use a couple more days in my pajamas and gorging on cookies, but my jeans are just about too tight already so it's time to get back to normal. I did laundry before I left, how is it possible to already need to do it again?

Laundry is like buying groceries to me. I always feel like I JUST did it. But inevitably, in what seems like a minute, my clothes are all dirty and my cupboards are bare.

There are no cookies here, and since my jeans have been tight for awhile now, I suppose that's one thing to be happy about.

I am convinced this blog is making me fat.

Me too! Seriously. I know it's dumb, but I've definitely gained weight since the inception of the OWFL!

I'm trying a little something out to test my theory.

I've decided to start my own blog - non lunch related - so that I spend time blogging the minutae of my day over there, and less time here, hopefully mitigating the weight-y (!) effects of this joint. I'll still be here, but I'm hoping dividing my time will minimize the compulsion to eat grand lunches every day.

(I developed this theory today after a bottle of wine, so I'm not sure if it will hold water)
